On a side note, I have been using a 3rd party battery extensively from Amazon for a few years and it lasted longer than my OEM Dewalt batteries.

This is the older battery generation (all black case). Not really a bad price, but not great. But can be assured it isn't a fake.

Which brand? I've found a few that use Panasonic but those are expensive.

Some of the reviews on the knock-off Amazon brands are pretty convincingly negative. They don't charge fully, and they are likely not 6aH.
