For the majority of people, ChromeOS is perfectly fine. I wish all my in-laws and grandparents would just use ChromeOS so they would stop calling my to fix their Windows problems.

I have an older version of the Duet. My daughter uses it daily for chrome browser and lightweight apps perfectly.

Thanks - Apologies I missed that the first time around. Now onto the deal - the price seems decent but the 4GB worries me.

I have an older Duet (10.1" with 4 GB Ram) and worry it'd be similar with response time, etc. I remember watching a video of the Duet 5 with 8GB Ram and felt like it performed significantly better. If I needed something right away, I may have jumped on this, but I think I'll wait for future deals.

Google says 2030. Good deal IMO.

Can't complain too much at this price but 4GB isn't going to be a great experience, even just browsing on ChromeOS.

Pretty tempted here. Been eyeing this for a while, especially interested after seeing this write up: https://kokada.dev/blog/my-favori...hromebook/
Would buy this immediately if it was 8gb, still tempted with the 4gb model for the kids.

Only 4GB of RAM. Better Chromebooks have at least 8GB. 4GB is OK for web surfing (with a few tabs open), lightweight apps, etc.

More like Crapdragon.

Save up, get a Surface instead and thank me later

Those 4gb are making me doubt, what do you think? I just want to use it for handwriting notes, notion and web navigation.

My two cents - if you're using it for basic things you're probably fine. Web navigation is where you might to start noticing lags - page loading, going from tab to tab, etc. If you don't find yourself navigating a lot of pages, or are patient, this is a good deal.
