The external dimensions add up to 63". This exceeds the 62" checked baggage limit for most airlines.

I have never seen any airline I have traveled godown and add the dimension 1 inch won't make a dent bro. I get what your saying but I've traveled a lot.

The problem I've seen is if you fill up a bag this big it will be over 50 lbs which is now oversize +$100, I think the 24" check bag is more practical imo

I bought the bag after doing a Google search on this topic. Yes, most travelers haven't been busted over 1", so I'll live on the edge. I'm curious what would happen at an airport with automated baggage handling, like Schiphol, that uses laser measurements.

Nah dude, I got a 29" bag and checked in fine from Japan to SF via ANA and SF to MN fine with southwest. 27' is a good size to check in. Oversize is 30'+ size.

Samsonite Omni ND Winfield etc are 9.5 to 11.5

10.5 lb isn't heavy also this is PC polycarbonate best material unlike cheapo aBS or ABS PC blend.
