That's almost $1 a sheet. I guess I haven't bought sandpaper in a while, I don't remember paying any where near that.
In fact, I just checked and I've still got a couple 5sheet packs in my woodshop, one marked $1.75 from Home Depot, and one marked $1.45 from Menards.
They can't be more than ten or 15 years old....
2010 prices for 3m finish sandpaper was way more than that, like you have GOT to be kidding. Tracking Amazon price history going back 14 years 800 grit never been less than $5 till today.

I literally looked at the price tags and dates. I didn't even build my shop until 2008, so they can't be older than that.
Amazon pricing is not the real world, especially way back then when they were just a bookseller.

Are you having memory issues? Dates giving you a hard time? It was 1998 that they stopped being a "bookseller". By 2007 Amazon Fresh (groceries) launched. They got huge before 2010 and sold everything precisely because their prices were undercutting "normal" retail.
Maybe you are looking as some generic garnet smaller sandpaper but as a professional user in the 90's, 3M finish silicon carbide 1500 has never normally been $1.75 as a pack of 5.

they may have started, but they didn't take of until the 2000's. And nobody cares about Amazon pricing, nobody buys sandpaper online, they go into a hardware store where it is still $3.99 today. Go back to Reddit.

Got one of the 2000, though! Thanks OP.
