Been using this for the last 4-5 years, would recommend. And nah, I don't game, acting like 100GB games are the norm.
People here like to exaggerate

These were highly regarded back when sata ssds were still new tech. Makes sense if you have a old pc but with nvme enclosures for both portable and nas I just dont see why you'd step backwards in storage tech. You can get a huge spinning hard drive for those who would argue just storage needs. One thing people forget is the rapid pace of games system requirements. The next gen of games may not run properly on these.

600TBW is very little.
On paper yes.
Practically majority of home users never hit over a couple of hundred TBW over years of usage. I have corporate servers that run for 5 years and the disks don't reach 100tbw, even for database servers (partly because the disks are inadvertent raid setups)

Anyway, the Sandisk is a good brand for anyone looking for large cheap SSD

That's the only reason I didn't just grab one of these to use as a media drive for music and movies. Currently using a 3tb Toshiba P300 and for being a 'dino drive' it's still very useable. I even have some games running off of it. M.2s are super nice and I have a few in my system but I would trust a SATA SSD more than an M.2 for any kind of important data currently.
Check your current TBW on hour Dino drive…
If it's more movie storage you probably write once and read multiple times… 600 TBW is plenty

I assume there's correlation between TBW and retention.
No reason to compromise here if it's for data one cares about.

The TBW of other 4TB SATA SSDs:

MX500 / BX500: 1,000 TB
870 QVO: 1,440 TB
860 / 870 EVO: 2,400 TB

Also, no reason to encourage manufacturers to skimp.
If the 1TB model's TBW is 400TB, why won't 4TB be 1,600TB?
