I'm very much aware of what he's referring to.

What you fail to realize is that he comments this on every single thread, ad nauseum. There's zero effort to be helpful or informative, so what would you label it? A meme?

As for the rest of your comment, are we just straight up lying at this point?

A BIOS update solves the issue for processors that haven't already been affected.

Even if that weren't the case, as I said previously, the whole system is under manufacturer warranty. It might be inconvenient to buy it only to send it back in six months, but nobody is going to get shafted on this deal.

For anyone who bought a boxed retail processor, Intel has extended their warranty on the component. To say they aren't honoring it is just another lie.

Better 4070 super & Ryzen 7 7800X3D for $100 more. The step from 4070 to 4070 super is substantial, almost 4070 TI performance. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D is universally recognized as the best gaming CPU in the market, period. A complete no brainer upgrade for $100 more than this.

it's been available every month for the past 3 months at Best Buy, and will probably be available again soon as we approach the 15th.

It's under warranty as a prebuilt.

Quit trying to be edgy.

Some reviews recommend upgrading the fans and they're giving me some pause
The fans seem fine. There's definitely room and plenty of plug ins on the motherboard to add 3-5 more.

just pick this up from my local costco.

Figured, I have 90 days to return if any better deals come along.

I do plan to upgrade memory to 128 since I do more development w/ dockers/kubernetes and AI than game.

I will update the thread once I start using it and see how it looks.(I don't game at all)

A naive question: I have always been under the impression that intel CPU will produce less heat, and the fan will work in lower speed, comparing to AMD CPUs.
My Lenovo laptop has AMD CPU, the fan will kick in as soon as possible, in high speed.

For gaming CPU, is intel CPU quieter, generating less heat, and requiring less fan power?

Generally it is opposite, AMD is less power hungry so less heat. But you have to be comparing two similarly powerful processor's from each company for that to be true. Also, a laptop is highly dependent on the cooling system, and most are sub par, especially if it was an older or budget laptop, def if it was both.

I picked up the display model for $1000 last month as well. Finally got around to setting it up yesterday. Has anybody upgraded to 64GB? Can't tell if there is enough room, as it looks like the CPU fan might get in the way of two extra memory sticks.
