check you local yamaha dealer before buying. They can likely beat the price on all ebikes. i purchased the morrow 7 new for 500 less the online.

Purchased second one today. price went up slightly below is my invoice. price was 2247 (morrow 7) out the door.
For those thinking about getting an ebike but worried about not getting enough exercise, remember this: sitting on the couch thinking about riding your analog bike burns no calories. Riding your ebike because it's fun and you don't have to stress about a hateful hill climb or running out of energy far from home burns a lot more calories!
Apparently it's Yamaha ebike week on SD

Would it be possible if down road motor breaks to just remove all the electrical and have it be regular bike?
You can ride it now without power or without the battery. As long as you don't break anything dramatic in the mid drive motor, when it's off it just becomes a heavy gravel bike. The Electric Bike report review has them riding around 14 mph with the motor off.

Trying to get a dealer to set this up for me. Have a road race bike and an aggressive full suspension MTB. This would be perfect for a commuter, rec rider. With discount + extra battery and warranty, this is damn near unbeatable if I can get it. Calling dealers...

This doesn't have suspension. Get the Crosscore RC for cheaper.

They went with the seat suspension instead.

I spoke with a friend that has had a gravel bike and a mountain bike for many years. He told me he wishes he wouldn't have gotten the gravel bike. The handle bars are drop bars and it makes it difficult to maneuver over obstacles. It would be good for commuting to work on a unpaved and paved road though that are in decent conditions. Also, when your batteries no longer take a charge you are stuck with very difficult to pedal bike because of the motor weight unless you fork out $1400 or whatever Yamaha decides to charge for a new battery if they still support them. Just my thoughts.
I am now a 75 yead old biker thaty still has 2 ebikes (RideOneUp 500XL and Espin Sport) a road bike (LeMond Tourmalet) and a cheap Cyclocross (Motobecane Fantom CX) and my fovorite by far is still the Fantom!

what components are better?
Almost everything.
Brake, rear derailleur, 9 speed x2 (croascore) vs 1x11 (wabash). I prefer 1x system for simplicity because it's e-bike. Shifter is better. Dropper seat post etc…

As I said before it's about flat bar vs dropbar. Some people do not like dropbar but anyone who has road bike experiences, they will prefer Wabash because of wind resistance.

Studies show that eBike riders can get the same or even more exercise than traditional bike riders. This is because eBikes allow riders to cover more distance and spend more time on the saddle, compensating for the assisted pedaling. Using a regular bike will be within a rider's physical limitations often being shorter in distance and time.

The Motobecane Fantom CX looks like a good bike.

Studies have found that riders of pedal assist eBikes like this, get just as much exercise than those on regular bikes. Reason being, is time and distance. While a regular bike will ride a path within their physical limitations often being shorter in distance, an eBiker will continue riding onward and thus spending more time and distance in the saddle.

I've also noticed some people on e-bikes turn the assist off to get a good work out. If they feel less energetic they turn the assist on a lower setting. For those in rehab they could turn it to high assist and when they begin to feel better they could lower the assist setting.

I've been thinking about getting a casual road bike and I've been thinking about getting an e-bike. Should I get a casual road e-bike?????
What is your typical usage pattern? I was commuting to work on back roads for only 7 miles each way but several steep hills that resulted in me getting sweaty on my way to and from work and either living with the sweat all day long or showering twice a day (they did have one at work!) at suboptimal times.

Going to an e-Bike I was able to reduce commute time, no longer arrive sweaty, and get as much exercise as I wanted. I also hate going up long hills with cars flying by even on side roads as I just don't feel safe with that big a speed differential, so pedaling + electric boost cut the car passing traffic by more than a factor of 2.

I also got one for my son during Covid epidemic as he wasn't able to make it up some hills we liked to ride (even when I rode without e-assist he just gave up.... I tried towing him while in e-assist myself but that was just silly), and he can ride an e-Bike to school and back after football practice while no way he would have the energy to ride a regular bike back after football...

e-Bikes do require some more thought, as they are heavier to transport (if you are putting in or behind a vehicle, watch the tongue weight! carrying up stairs kinda sucks though removing battery helps), and pose a bit more concern about theft so I lock a bit more carefully, but many people find they actually ride more / get more exercise with an e-Bike.

If you live in a flat area or your main purpose is fitness without practical implications of trying to get somewhere on your bike, do some work/activity, and get back I think a regular bike may be more flexible, but there are many use cases where an e-Bike is ideal...

Your local dealer might have these in stock to test. If you can it might be a good idea to see if you like them.

YES same deal.
Was the store an actual "Yamaha" owned store or was it just a store that carries Yamaha bikes? In my city, we have stores that carry Yamaha but they also carry lots of other bikes. We don't have any Yamaha only dealerships
