They're coming out with a new power head soon, and they just came out with the 8.0/12.0 forge batteries, so that's why these are being cleared out. But with that said, this is a great deal, thanks OP! https://www.milwaukeetool.com/products/3016-21st

This isn't a deal. This is trickery compliments of corporate America. This is so common in America these days that you can just expect it like you can't believe anything these days. This item is 299 and has a $50 discount for $249 for being a rewards member. Yes before you sign up it will say 199 - 50 is 149. That's the trickery. If you want to fall for it go right ahead. But you'll pay $249 for it one way or another.
I paid $162 after taxes and it is sitting in my garage. How did I pay $249 for it?

Did you miss the YMMV in the title? I was able to get it for just a little over $160 after taxes + free pickup. I'll be on the lookout for "corporate America" to instead charge my credit card $249 LMAO

Just beware this thing will leave your arm feeling numb for a long time after using it. Something to do with the vibrations it puts out just makes the hand pulling the trigger feel really odd afterwards.

Got one on the Home Depot deal recently, returned it after using it once. It's heavy, and having to hold down a safety with one finger while depressing the trigger with another is tiresome. I am a complete novice with string trimming so it may have just been my inexperience, but I found it difficult to use and was not happy with the job it did

I got it for $149+tax. I had to check couple of store around me to find the $149 though. The nearest 2 stores were selling for $249 (after $50 discount). Ordered online, pick up. Just 8.0 battery is worth the price.

I got mine for 150 plus tax. I did have to hunt a little bit to find a store at that price. I wonder about the rapid charger it came with. Will that shorten the battery life much?

I have this and hate it. It doesn't disperse the string out so I always have to take the thing apart to pull the string out more.

I was going to get this and return the one I got at HD last week. But only available shipped and the price was over $200.

I got it at HD for $179 after military discount

Today, I picked one up and it turned out to be just a 6A XC battery when I opened the box. If you picked one up recently, can you verify that it's an 8A battery in the box?

This took a bit of an effort to make the deal work, but in the end…. I was able to get it for the $149 There's numerous stores in my area of about an hour and a half drive for me. After changing my selected store around about 10 times, I finally found one about 45 minutes away. Placed the order and went right away.
After getting it out of the box when I got home, this seems like a much more substantial weed whacker than the picture portrays. Can't wait to try it out.
Thanks OP

Thank, went to store with $199 listed online to check stock as it was on my errand route..
They had stock in the back but rang up $299.
Asked if I had to order online to get the $199 and showed it on my phone. Price adjusted on the spot and verified the extra $50 Ace Rewards worked as well. I had been holding off on any new tool purchases, but I've been tracking Fuel Quik-Loc deals for a while and had to give this one a shot.

Why are they making a new power head? Is there something wrong with this design?

Ordered yesterday, and it got cancelled today. The total was $162 which is pretty sweet since I've recently bought the tool only for $172 after tax. Will call to see what's going on 😞
