I have an older version of this model and I have to admit it's been great. Easy to use controls / options, you can turn the beeps off. The exhaust kinda sucks but that true of most if not all non-dedicated kitchen vent hoods.

Only thing I don't love is the big Whirlpool logo, but whatever.

You can put a nice magnetic square over the brand if you're shamed of whirlpool

Whirlpool make reliable appliances. After trashing both LG and Samsung microwaves, our Whirlpool has being going strong for years. Our Whirlpool fridge has been a trooper too.

I bought the "Vissani 1.7 cu. ft. 1000-Watt Over the Range Microwave in Black" last week as it is regularly priced at $180 from Home Depot, and needed to match my already mismatched black appliances. So far seems like a great purchase. The exhaust fan is strong and not excessively loud, heats food evenly.

That being said at this price if you're looking for stainless steel, nice deal to jump on it's tough to find anything under $200. These over the range microwaves come with a template that you need to mount the machine to the back of the wall and to the top cabinet. Without those templates it would be nearly impossible/very hard to mount, effectively making buying something used not an option (without this template).

Thanks for posting!

My Whirlpool over the range microwave is still kicking strong since 2006, used daily. Whirlpool is a great brand for microwaves. This appears to be a good price too. Might pick one up and have it sit until my current one breaks.

We're on our 3rd and 2nd units (2 kitchen household), respectively, in this product line within 4 years. Out of the 3 failures Whirlpool warrantied one and the other two were warrantied by a third party service plan for the household. One of the units we have now works ok, but makes a horrible buzz (same noise one of the previously failed units made for a couple months before dying). The display also occasionally gets stuck and we have to unplug/replug to get it to reset. The second unit works fine except that time is permanently stuck on the 24h clock. Overall, these just haven't been durable.

I have this. It's a very good microwave. The popcorn setting and sensors pop the perfect bag of popcorn every time!

Mine had a faulty door sensor, it was fixed under warranty. That was 6 years ago.

Crazy that microwaves are this expensive now a days and this is considered a sale, they were literally $50 or less at one point with the real high ends pushing the $100-150 limit.

Very likely its going to be almost BNIB, people didnt measure their opening correctly and it was in most cases too shallow or didnt fit right. When I worked in retail many many years ago, that was the number 1 reason for the returns.

Being able to silence appliances is one of my favorite features. I love my air-fryer but it makes the most annoying sounds. I'm tempted to tear it apart and de-solder the beeper.

I removed all the whirlpool logos from my appliances. It's usually nothing more than an aluminum type sticker.
