Chase is offering select Chase Cardholders: 5% Back on Eligible Purchases at McDonald's, Paypal, Pet Shops and Vet Services, Select Charities when you activate this offer on your qualifying card. Offer valid from October 1 to December 31, 2024 for these bonus categories.

Note: The offer can be activated starting September 15th.

(When viewing the quarterly categories outside of logging in to chase.com, it says info coming soon. However, when logging in to credit card and viewing the details link next to where it shows current categories....see 2nd screenshot I have here.............it shows all the year's categories, including the above Q4 list, which I've attached as pic #1 here.)

Push purchases to PayPal for three months. Walmart.com takes PayPal, as well as most online vendors other than Amazon.

If you haven't hit your $1500 maximum by the end of the quarter, send money to yourself or a family member using PayPal. There's a 2.9% + $0.30 transaction fee, so you pocket 2%.

Edit: I like another posters idea of making a quarterly tax payment using PayPal. 2% fee, pocket 3%. Plus, no risk of it being categorized as a cash advance. https://www.payusatax.com/

You'll get it back with your tax refund.
OP, is this is for Freedom and Freedom Flex cards only? if so, might want to change to "select Chase Freedom cardholders."

This is one of the stranger groups of Chase categories I've seen.
Last years Q4 had Costco and PayPal.

I think the op got it right.

Not good on freedom unlimited, so freedom isn't right.

And, if you have a chase card, you already know if you are getting revolving category bonuses or not.

The quarterly categories never applied to Freedom Unlimited. Just OG Freedom and Freedom Flex.

Your final statement is an assumption and not a reason to leave vagueness in the OP if it can be avoided.

Paypal is very useful to me.
Granted I despise Paypal, but I will use it to get 5% / 7%.

Buy gift cards at CVS which does accept Paypal even in-store. 7% = 1% base + 2% drugstores + 4% Paypal

I might try buying VISA gift cards again to see if CVS reversed their policy.

Where does the 2% drugstore come from? If you pay via PayPal, isn't it a PayPal purchase, and not a drugstore purchase?

If that works, can I get 10% by using PayPal in the McDonald's app?

I was replying to the person who wrote about the Freedom Flex which receives 3% at drugstores and restaurants.

I don't know if you will get 4% for Paypal and 4% for McDonald's.

But I know from my experience with CVS that at the very least what you would get with McDonalds is 1% base + 2% restaurants since McDonald's qualifies as "restaurants" + 4% Paypal = 7%. This is for the Freedom Flex only, not Freedom

Does anyone know how to use your freedom flex with paypal to maximize rewards?

At the beginning of December, Target offers 10% off for Target gift cards.

Right now, most Chase credit cards offer 10% back from OfficeMax purchase. Buy McDonald's gift cards in store.

It is painless to file a dispute on BofA's website.

I did that last year near the holidays on an order from Tracfone.

One thing I do like about Chase's website is the Secure Message feature. I wish BofA has that.
BofA has secured messages. You can sometimes file a dispute, sometimes they want you to call. Their reps are a disaster either way. So far I've been their customer for well over 30 years, files maybe 4-5 disputes, every single one was denied and had to be chased (o pun intended). Compared to Chase... there is no comparison for credit card customer service.

No. The restaurant purchase through PayPal will not qualify as Restaurant by Chase, it's qualify as PayPal.
