I have this dewalt light and a few other ones, I also have a few of the Chinese knock off lights. Two things to be aware of with the knock offs... Do NOT leave them on a battery when you are not using the light. They slowly drain the battery and will eventually permanently kill your expensive battery. If you look through reviews, you will find people posting about this. Second the knock offs aren't built anywhere near the quality or tolerances the dewalt gear is. Of course no where near the price either. Lol Not knocking the non-dewalt lights, I have a few myself, and a couple I actually like, just don't store the light on the battery.
I have this I paid less for it. And my honest opinion is they could have done a lot better at this price point. But it is what it is handy to run off of the batteries. Just wish the output was better and had more options and maybe a strong magnetic holder for working on cars and tractors
Looks about 10 bucks cheaper than the average price at Amazon, which is currently $55-57 from third party sellers.

I was in the exact same boat: been watching this on Amazon for a long time. But last week I decided to go for a different option: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08PNMR7RN, which as only $26 at the time. And now that I have it, I'm glad I did. Has two brightness levels, but even the "dimmer" one is more than enough for normal flashlight duty. Construction feels good, pivot point holds firm, and very light overall. I read some reviews about attaching magnets to it, which I may try.

If the DeWALT option was $36, maybe I would choose it - but now there are so many cheaper options that use the same batteries.

I probably have 20+ dewalt tools and 10+ batteries. I buy dewalt but this $46 (on sale) 500 lumens work light and battery not included makes me a lunatic dewalt sheep if I buy it.

Think about it, it's just a light and you can buy so many alternative lights far cheaper, brighter, has more features and some include batteries. How can 3 LEDs so expensive? If it has other modes and features like telescopic base, adjustable lens, 90+ CRI (this DCL050 is poorly rated at 70), adjustable color temperature, more flexible articulation, 2000+ lumens, emergency (flash) modes, magnetic mounting, and the likes, maybe $50 is reasonable.

The irony is, I am already a Dewalt sheep.

Bought a couple of these while on sale for $39 back in 2020 (had to check Amazon on dates). I like them and they've come in handy bunch of times. There are brighter options available, but I've found for my needs, the output if fine and not overpowering. For my eyes, I've found some brighter lights to be too bright and harsh. Have also used them several times while the power was out for some time to light individual rooms. I have the Dewalt ecosystem batteries, so it was a no brainer for me.

Thanks, got this exactly a year ago, Sep. 14, 2023 when it was on sale at Woot at $52.99. Getting a 2nd one now since it's so useful.

I have this and it's a great work light. Please keep in mind that lumens are subjective. This is not a spotlight but it has been great for any job I've needed it for when I need a small flood light

Dewalt has crappy lighting options. I have a mix of battery ecosystems and the light options and cost from Ryobi is so much better.

I have this light and really don't like it. I use it weekly. There are multiple positions of the head where it just falls over. It doesn't rotate, which would help balance it better. The brightness isn't great either, and the hanging hook feels like an afterthought. It's still probably the best light they have at this price and lasts a long time on the batteries.

I have been waiting to get a second at a discount. Makes a great work light, but also an excellent camping light.

Same for me, the flimsy falling head is highly annoying. I was able to tighten up the screws which helped for a while but then it eventually got loose again.
