I looked it up. It was a project developed by three students at a university in Japan, which was released in 2019 on Steam. It was always going to be free and there are no micro transactions. They recently made a update to the game and an announcement that UNDEFEATED: Genesis will be released in 2026. That one is being made by a gaming company, but didn't mention a price.

This is not at all one of those type "free/free to play" games.

This is more of a fan made project of a few. Japanese college students who wanted to make a Superman game.

Pretty neat, if it were just a tech demo to show you what could be done- after this first few minutes wears off, there's not a whole lot to it. But that was the point.

With the advent of AI, there is now a load of trash hitting the Internet.

From botting on social media, to fake articles generated from websites, to even games.

Yes, there is a ton of trash games that have flooded the Playstation Store now. Be mindful of whatever game is 'free' or cheap.

This came out on steam many years ago, before the sudden availability of AI to average users.

This is a genuine school project, by three talented students.

Yeah, it's boring after a few minutes, but this isn't what you're talking about.

Feels like a little tech demo of what the new Unreal engine is capable of doing on a PS5. I think the kids that made this were obviously fans of DC Universe Online, because the flight mechanics, and the two button combat system is very similar to that. Also, randomly flying around and saving citizens is also a staple of DCUO.
