I feel like I got these for like $40-45 about a year ago and at that time the MSRP was around $80 so I think you're right.
Yeah I got like 10 pairs of 1000-11s for $45 each last year from ASics.

No support cheaply made. Truly bottom barrel of Asics. I've tried a lot of models and they were one of the only ones that guaranteed foot pain for me.
The 1000 11s I have good support for short distances while the 12 is lighter by an oz https://www.mensjournal.com/healt...20iteratio. I've tried dozens of different shoes from different brands, from the bottom of the barrel to $100. These are mid-level, they're meant for beginners and people who overpronate and don't want to spend much money and are way better than the bottom tier - but I did buy 2x Kayano 30s this past week on sale bc Im starting to notice the 1000s hurt after 7-8 miles.

I got excited but saw they were 1000's. I do enjoy the Wide Black/White 2000's but not going to pay the same price for a worse shoe.

Haven't tried the GT1000s, was taking about the Gel Contend. My feet hurt after a mile in those shoes. My Kayano 28s are starting to get pretty worn out as since I've gotten them I've pretty much stopped wearing my other Asics as I can go all day on those, they rock and rarely go on sale for us big feet.

Check Amazon right now, just bought a pair of Kayano 30 new extra wide for $100.

Cumulus at 80 is decent for EE. EE difficult to get on sale, I normally pick up a pair when it gets down to somewhere between 65 to 80 bucks

Gel contend are very cheap shoes. There's a reason that those shoes are priced lower than every other shoe on their site

I got the 11s last year for $45 - good shoes but they're not the best for long distances i'm finding (seem to wear out fast and less comfortable when you start doing a lot of 7-8+ mile runs). Still have a bunch from that deal though, before they wear out they're really good for overpronators but I have two Kayano 30s coming in for my long runs.
The GT-1000 and 2000 are both made for people who overpronate. If you don't overpronate then you will find the ride stiffer than you probably want. If they aren't sized correctly (and I mean perfectly) no matter who you are they will suck, because the arch has a much stiffer foam in it, to keep people with flat feet from breaking them down. They are basically increasing levels of overpronation control going from the 1000,2000,Kayano (basically a 3000) to the 4000.

Most estimates are it's about a third of the population. AFAIK Nike only has the Zoom Structures (which they often times don't even make year to year) for overpronation. Adidas USED to have the SL line, but it's also largely cut. Neither are for severe overpronation regardless.

The sources I've found are 50-70% where did you get a third? https://www.runnersneed.com/exper...lysis.html

Yes, I had the same problems. First nothing I clicked on would go into the shopping cart. Eventually I got the cart filled and then when I went to checkout and added my credit card, there was an error saying that the field must be filled out (it was, and I tried with two different cards). Finally got to checkout using PayPal.

This was under Linux using first Firefox (which eventually worked with PayPal but had the above problems at first) and with Microsoft Edge (thinking that they might not like Firefox).

My only advice to you is .. keep trying :-)
I had same issue with Credit card. Finally spoke with a rep who gave me a work around. She said for billing address, don't select same as shipping. Select new address and re-enter your address, and enter phone number without dashes. I tried this and it worked. Crazy, though, that we have to work so hard and waste so much time to get someone to take our money.

Lmao Asics thinking we are stupid and won't notice a major MSRP raise on their bottom barrel Contend line. Hey, Asics, your weak sauce marketing game is showing!
