Display size, resolution, refresh rate, etc are all def fine for productivity work but 1000r is a pretty steep curve which has a couple drawbacks:
- Makes it harder to view the display from an angle (not ideal for showing the screen to somebody else or if you're not consistently positioned in the "sweet spot" viewing area)
- Curve can cause some visual distortion effects which isn't ideal if you're doing any kind of visual work like video editing, art, etc.

As a rule of thumb what should I look for? IPS only? I'm moving to a new home office with a smaller desk space. Need to do a single ultrawide vs two big dual monitors - it's just work no gaming so just need something that fits the horizontal space around $200

Yeah IPS is still the gold standard for office work.
