Hall Effect joysticks are fundamentally different because they use a magnetic contactless design to measure voltage, which is used to determine the joystick's position. This in turn means Hall Effect joysticks are significantly less prone to developing "stick drift" and should translate to an overall longer life span of the controller's joysticks.
I only know this because over a year ago, I decided to learn how to solder so that I could fix my own broken Xbox One and Series Elite controllers. I have since made a nice sum of cash buying, repairing, and selling "stick drift" controllers. Most can be repaired by replacing their individual worn out potentiometers, while some I've gone the extra length to change their joysticks to a Hall Effect design instead.

If I were to buy this controller and sync it to my PC with bluetooth should I expect the same terrible latency I did with the Xbox controller, or do Xbox controllers just suck at bluetooth?
Just FYI for anybody dealing with the controller desert that is the Xbox, I bought some Hall effect sticks off aliexpress and fixed my old drifting box controllers for about $3 per controller. They work great so far. In case it needs saying soldering is required.
