So, umm, about to open a case of worms. (I'm so sorry.) Bambu Lab P1S w/ AMS owner here. My printer's running basically24/7 at this point, and I'm considering a low-budget secondary printer to help out. My first thought was to aim for something that addresses an unmet need - meaning, either something with a larger build plate area than the P1S or one that's small and fast.
Naturally, the A1 Mini's in my shopping cart. While it's also a $199 printer, sales tax and shipping would bump the total cost up to $232. I'd be purchasing tax exempt with free shipping on Amazon, so this would be the better deal. I know the price difference isn't huge...but $33 is basically 3 rolls of filament on sale, and I could sure use that.
Any recs on which to go with? I'm not a 3D printer expert by any means at this point, so ease of use still matters. That said, I hear ok things about this printer and would be willing to give it a try, depending on feedback.
TIA for whatever thoughts, suggestions, etc. you've got!

Don't go with Anker. I made the dumb mistake of buying an M5 for $700 about a year ago because they had promised the "V6 color engine" that would supposedly outperform bambu's AMS. That project was cancelled. Their software sucks (I bought some .06 nozzles and they effing removed profiles for .06 nozzles in their slicer when changing from cura to prusaslicer). The ankermake discord is full of bots. The M5 itself is ok, but I've had a few issues with clogs, and noticeably worse print quality compared to my X1C. I'd definitely spend slightly more for an A1 mini given the trouble I've had with the M5.
