Double check to see if this is the US model. If it's not, you have no hardware warranty for the switch itself. However, the joy cons can be replaced under Nintendo's goodwill policy for stick drift.

I bought the JP version from a prior slickdeal and the WIFI sleep issue sucks. I either have to not have it sleep or I have it docked with ethernet and wifi turned off and it won't crash. Buy the US version if you intend on having it sleep while on wifi.

I think this is an OLED issue in particular? My US OLED does the same thing.

They did confirm it's being produced but no dates. Probably 2025 though. I'm waiting for it unless I see under $200 for an oled model.
My good-for-nothing prediction is a March 2025 release target with an official announcement in a month or two.

Do they replace just the stick or the entire joy con?

From my experience, they replaced the entire joy con but it might be a case-by-case basis?

Spend a little more and get a steamdeck. You will get 100000s of games to choose from and superior hardware for not much more money. Plus Bluetooth and wifi 6 and the ability to be used as a real true computer.

Are the button inputs swapped? Might be able to change in the settings if so.
As far as I know, Japanese and "World" Switch systems all use the same button configuration. The only company that was offering two schemes was Sony... and they stopped a bit ago.

Not everyone needs another gaming device to be used as a computer lol. My Steam Deck has been collecting dust since I bought it two years ago. The switch feels wayy nicer in the hands IMO. I'd rather play Steam games on my computer, Nintendo games on the TV with the pro controller.

I was totally planning to wait too. I had my switch lite and while I didn't love that I couldn't play on a TV it was still alright. Then I saw the clearance deal at Sam's Club. It was $280 for the switch OLED, headset, 256GB Nintendo SD card, and a wired controller.

With this setup I can wait until there is some switch 2 game that I just gotta have.
