I bought a couple of these recently. I'm not a fan. One stopped working after about a month. Won't charge anymore. I took this flashlight camping and I really didn't care for this light. I kept having to rotate the flashlight in my hand trying to find the on/off button without looking at the light. It was kind of a pain. I have many olight flashlights. These are no where near the quality of olight. I really liked the shape and style of this light. But overall, after getting them I wished I wouldn't have…

Every brand you just mentioned is made in China. Sofirn is as good as any of those. From my experience, Acebeam is on a lower level.

Have this light in grey, it's nice. Not quite olight nice but for the money it's really solid. This is a thrower so be ready for that.

With my bad shoulder, this is no longer a "long throw" flashlight for me

No the deer will camouflage. This light only sees big foot.

I own at least 8 18650 powered sofirn flashlights and never had problems with their batteries. Most likely they are some rebranded quality manufacturer. If they did go bad, 18650s are cheap to replace and it's nice to have spares.

Edit: the only thing bad about sofirn lights is some or most don't charge on usb c to c cables. It's best to use the usb c to a cable provided. I honestly just use my opus charger anyway.

You can. But know that hunting deer at night is illegal. Often times running spot lights is also illegal.

i work on the road, and the engineers at night pull out those giant 1000 lumen trigger spotlights, i pull out this out of my pocket and outshine them by 800 lumens. its small enough you could carry it all night in pocket, but daytime carry seems a stretch for not needing it all the time.

1800 lumens is what it really throws on turbo for a few minutes.

Acebeam is cream of the crop of those being discussed. Sofirn (and sister companies Wurkkos and Aplos...Jinba Technologies) are budget. However, they are great "real" flashlights. China makes the world's best flashlights. Not even negotiable. With that said, this light is very decent.

Lots of reviews saying the battery died. Would it be better to buy it direct from sofrin?
They use rewrapped Lishen batteries. Decent. Better batteries than any 21700 cell on Amazon, but not quite on par with Molicel P45B'S or Samsung 40T'S (a few of my favorites).

The TD01 and TD01C are absolutely better lights. I prefer the TD01 with the linear driver over the TD01C with constant current driver.

Is this good as a self defense daily carry to blind would be attackers?

If not, I've e been looking for a small EDC that can temporarily blind a person, what would you recommend that wouldn't break the bank?
