I bought a couple of these recently. I'm not a fan. One stopped working after about a month. Won't charge anymore. I took this flashlight camping and I really didn't care for this light. I kept having to rotate the flashlight in my hand trying to find the on/off button without looking at the light. It was kind of a pain. I have many olight flashlights. These are no where near the quality of olight. I really liked the shape and style of this light. But overall, after getting them I wished I wouldn't have…

Every brand you just mentioned is made in China. Sofirn is as good as any of those. From my experience, Acebeam is on a lower level.

Have this light in grey, it's nice. Not quite olight nice but for the money it's really solid. This is a thrower so be ready for that.

Very cool light but I felt like this used to go for around 20? (Not too long ago... /ducks )

My question is, do they plan on coming out with a new version anytime soon? I'd probably be forced to get it... this is the light that showed me how interesting modern lights are!

It is similar to Olight's quality. I have a few Olight ones as well, but find myself use the sofirns more. It doesn't have a cheap feel to it. The spread of the light is so even and nicely distributed. You don't see the circle shade of the LED reflected you would with cheap lights.

Your right, I got mine with a battery for 20 ish a couple yrs ago. This is basically the same price as buying direct from Sofirn and even cheaper on Ali most of time.

I wish it had a warmer tint, course then it wouldn't throw quite as far, or be as bright. But I want 5k or lower. 4k seems best.

The Sofirn stuff is definitely higher quality than those. There's a reason OLight is meme material about lights blowing up.

I have one of these IF22's. The TIR lens is really impressive. I use it on the boat where you want a nice tight beam to light-up distant channel markers without getting a lot of light spill on the deck and blinding you.

I had a much larger convoy light, but this IF22 proved to throw just as far or farther and a way more convenient size.

Not an EDC style choice, but if you need a spotlight-type flashlight with good throw - this is it.

Lots of reviews saying the battery died. Would it be better to buy it direct from sofrin?

I bought directly from sofirn before and on amazon. I can't tell if there is any difference on make or model. The batteries are their own brand though, and so far mine are going strong.
