I have this it's great to provide even coverage but it spreads quick. I mainly use it to do patch spots, couldn't imagine the whole yard since it's not time efficient to keep loading more into it.

I like that one of the pictures suggests using this to spread lime. You're gonna have a bad time.

It will probably dump a 40 lb bag of lime in 6 feet of space because of how big the holes are.

This is a great tool to spread topsoil to overdress your lawn.

i have the same experience with a generic model. 12.5" diameter drum vs 15.6" diameter on this one.

the tool spreads fast but even. better coverage than dumping a whole bag of compost or topsoil and spreading with rake.

only drawback is the clumps of cow poo or pieces/fillers bigger than the holes (rocks, wood pieces not broken down) stays in the drum. so you may need to empty the drum after a while.

Definitely recommend this tool. I would buy it if I didn't already have one.

The deal and coupon look like they're active again.

I ordered this when it was originally posted just for the fact that it was barely more expensive than renting similar equipment at a local hardware store for 4 hours ($45 for a 4 hour rental) .

No affiliation with this company at all, here's my experience. TLDR seems like pretty decent quality and a good value over renting, but haven't used it yet. You'll need a socket set to assemble. It is a Chinese company, so I used Google Pay/PayPal to protect my CC number

This was delivered within 24 hours after ordering for me, but it shipped from the Chicago area and I'm within a 7 hour drive from Chicago. It's NOT pre assembled and the box was much smaller than I anticipated. Assembly was pretty easy, took me 1.5 hours, but probably could have been faster if you pay attention to pictures and label stickers on the parts. 4 grates for the main drum. You'll need a socket set and Phillips screwdriver. It seems pretty sturdy and I'm guessing you would have to be rough with it to do serious damage that affects functionality. The grates sat pretty flush with the side end caps but not perfect yet. I suspect it will get more flush and will work itself more flush once I load it up and use it. It rolls pretty smooth on my living room carpet 😊. It definitely looks good enough for spreading compost and peat moss.

I was worried it would be too short and I would have to hunch over to push it as a 6'2" man, but seems like it will be comfortable for me.

The door latch seems fairly robust, like it will hold on fine, and it's on the end caps of the roller. I hope that will help it avoid some stress and avoid breaking, but I've heard that as a common concern with even more expensive brands. I'll just use a bungie or clip if it breaks.

As mentioned, this appears to be a Chinese or foreign company. I always use some sort of protection, like Paypal/Google Pay/Virtual CC number when I'm not sure about the seller, to avoid having to change my CC number if they're sketchy. I got an email notification about this international transaction from my CC company but I set up that international transaction alert. I'm not worried.

I've never used one of these tools before but I'm planning to spread 2-3 yards of compost on my lawn with this. I'll try to remember to edit this post with and update

It's on par with the landzie and would recommend it. Just stand by my earlier comment for patches and small areas it's great but if you're planning a whole yard it'll just be easier to spread via another method since it goes quick.

With that said I also use it to press seed into my yard by just rolling over the yard with the drum empty and pressing down as I go. It's not going to press deep into the soil but does knock it down past existing grass at least.
