How much do you expect for a non-carrier promotion for a 4-year old base model phone?

AT&T & T-Mobile offer $1K value for iPhone 12 with their premium plans. Many are buying it for trading in with their carrier. Already got a 12 from Metro last deal, which was $50 more.

Keeping my current phones (13 and higher) as spares so I can trade these in instead for less.

If you don't auto-pay or extend service, there is nothing to cancel. You just stop paying. Based on what I have read, device should auto unlock after 12 months from activation and continued service is not required.

Some metro genius data analyst saw an increase in purchase of iPhone 12 but didn't realize it was due to the pixel deal…so they say to run this promo, sucks to be that person who is about to lose their job because of this massive blunder.

I tried to port using my GV but it was not unlocked. While doing the port it failed. I then paid $3 to unlock it but now it keeps saying this number can't be transferred. Have I basically lost my $3? Anything else I can try?

I gave the Visible service to someone who needed it for cheap. I needed just the phone to trade-in with T-Mo. Auto Pay is not enabled by default with Metro. If intent is to move to Visible, don't wait till end of first month service in Metro.

If you have an unlocked 11, just port to Visible using eSIM. Takes only a few mins.
Do you know it is easy to get account # and transfer pin from Metro? I plan to transfer to Visible, never used Metro before. Thank you!

I think the number gets released in 6-8 hours from transfer request hold, try again tomorrow...

You are right… i was able to buy finally… i used GV… i thought i can log in rightaway to metro and get a second one for 35 ahahaha

I did… i bought GV (i have to buy twice coz of errors) $3
Make sure you unlock it first in settings…
Set up PIN by turning on "call to listen" in voicemail tab…(i suggest 6 digit pin)
Wait about an hour
And then place the order

I keep getting errors and this is the only one that worked for me…
