Why can't I install/run dmg, pkg, or app files in my M2 iPad pro? It's the same hardware architecture as all current Macs. Apple makes excellent hardware and gives users the feeling that they are thoughtful of the consumer's "experience", but they are so anti-consumer it's literally gotten them sanctioned by the EU and now sued by the FTC.
And don't get me started on the hoops you have to jump through just to install 'unprefered' by Apple software on Macs in Sonoma, with no opt out, even for advanced users. No, I don't want to spend $40 on some trash from the App store when I can use a FOSS program from GitHub, which I can review the source code of and run a hash against. Thank god Homebrew has mostly been left alone for now.
I'm typing this out on my MacBook Pro, so I'm not hater. But we can and should criticize when the situation warrants it.
Sad, because I love the feel of the keyboard, but I so rarely use the iPad with the KB that it is simply an annoyance.
And you don't HAVE to use it on a table. Your lap works very well sitting or laying down with it. It's also easy to remove it from the keyboard to use standing.
I had the previous keyboard with previous iPads and this keyboard with my 13" pro and simply remove it when I don't want to use the keyboard. They make magnetic cases to use it in portrait mode.
You sound like someone who makes things an issue when there isn't an issue 😂

Joanna: [Confused] So you're stealing?
Peter Gibbons: Ah no, you don't understand. It's very complicated. It's uh it's aggregate, so I'm talking about fractions of a penny here. And over time they add up to a lot.
Joanna: Oh okay. So you're gonna be making a lot of money, right?
Peter Gibbons: Yeah.
Joanna: Right. It's not yours?
Peter Gibbons: Well it becomes ours.
Joanna: How is that not stealing?
Peter Gibbons: [pauses] I don't think I'm explaining this very well.
Joanna: Okay.
Peter Gibbons: Um... the 7-11. You take a penny from the tray, right?
Joanna: From the cripple children?
Peter Gibbons: No that's the jar. I'm talking about the tray. You know the pennies that are for everybody?
Joanna: Oh for everybody. Okay.
Peter Gibbons: Well those are whole pennies, right? I'm just talking about fractions of a penny here. But we do it from a much bigger tray and we do it a couple a million times.

1. When a user buys a Chromebook do they expect to run Windows on it, even if it's x86?
2. Does Apple market the iPad as being able to run MacOS?
