Totally agree. We bought this for my 90 year old mom and she could not use it. The UI is just bad. And it's laggy so its a two fer of hard to use. I swapped her to a Roku and no issues. We took the insignia, and ya it's sometimes hard to tell where you are and how to get somewhere.

One thing I immediately love this TV is the weight. It feels like a large laptop. When I was assembling the two feet, I was able to hold the tv between my left hand and chin.

Years back I purchased an Insignia Black Friday 42 inch tv and put it in the garage. No problems with antenna or chromecast.
Got a 2nd insignia tv, this time a Firetv about 2-3 years ago and it already has issues. Doesn't respond to other inputs, slow as shit on the Home screen. I'm waiting to replace it with something cheap as it's the tv in front of the treadmill.
Avoid Firetv software on tvs as much as possible.
I don't care for the Smart TVs, as they add complexity (and advertisements) to a process that should be dead-simple: turn tv on, watch stuff. By default, with internet connect, it's turn it on, get fed an ad or three while waiting for an app to launch, then maybe the wifi radio will be strong enough to stream something without issue. Interestingly, every other device connected to this TV that can stream (such as the Xbox with Youtube, or Steam Deck when streaming from my main PC) did not have the poor connectivity issues, or internet drops.
So, connected it to the internet long enough to update the firmware per a suggestion at that time, then removed all network options. Now when I turn it on, it just asks what video input to use. Perfect, for my use-case, and for the price.
