The mower is on clearance in-store only. Depending on your location, the mobile app may allow you to see the clearance price as well, but it'll also say you must purchase at the store to get that price while supplies last.

Mixed reviews for sure, but many lower ratings (verified buyers only) look like user error or unrealistic expectations. If you want to mow an acre sized lot, treat yourself to a riding mower

The kit comes with the mower, 2 x 4.0Ah 40V batteries and a charger.

Dang. I paid $700 two or three weeks ago. Don't forget, if you buy this, the e-rebate for a free battery.

Good deal, wish they'd stop with the rear wheel drive though. It's not a selling point. Front wheel is much easier to use especially when turning. I honestly can't imagine the benefit to the consumer of rear wheel drive on a push mower.

Thanks for the heads up. Can you expand a little more on that E-rebate? Is that from makita?

I was able to get this deal a few months ago when it was $199! I love it and I would still pay $500 for it.

who repairs these things? i use a honda gas mower very durable, and am familiar with Makita cordless tools which are very durable.

should we just take a chance or is this an issue?

thanks

This is the makita brushless version, their most premium line, I have the cheaper brushed 36v and its been very reliable so I would assume this is even more reliable. Expect the mower to last as long as the batteries unless you get a lemon.

Website shows shows 3 of the ~10? stores near me has the mower on clearance for $500, and some have quite a few in stock (all the stores seem to have them in stock, too).

As long as the batteries isn't saying that much - my gas mower is 25yrs old and has barely needed any maintenance... Granted if I paid someone to do maintenance, it'd have cost a -lot- more than replacing an electric every handful of years.

(I'm looking forward to an electric mower in the near future, along with all the rest of the yard tools, it's just hard to justify replacing well running tools for no good reason...)

yeah, i use honda mowers which run excellent.

the last one i bought the tranny is going out, so i just bought the upgrade model. my first honda mower kinda of runs forever and we do acres of land. i think honda learned you don't have to be super great because the other brands were kinda inferior too.

i doubt the electrc are very good for acreage but it is a wait and see. Makita being from Japan may still be a quality item; i use a lot of their products no problem
