That David Gilmour style black guitar is very cool! I'm digging that surf pearl as well.

These don't seem to be the update player II series. Not a deal breaker, but I personally like rolled fingerboard edges and rosewood.

Look at the prices. They're clearly closing out Player I's. But yeah... rosewood feels much nicer.

I'd grab it if I knew it wasn't a heavy one. There can be a 2+ pound difference in these.

Very true. Don't buy anything without knowing the weight. How many guitars sit in cases because the player just "didn't bond with it" when it's a pound heavier than is comfortable. Paying full price for a guitar that weights what you're looking for beats chasing deals when it comes down to playing it.

not bad advice but not applicable to everyone, especially newer players. when you're playing seated, weight isn't that big of a deal. I own a boat anchor LP that sounds amazing and sustains for days. I have gigged it but it isn't the first one I reach for if I'll be playing standing.

Fair enough, and yet, I don't know why you wouldn't want to know the weight before you spend hundreds of dollars on a product sight unseen. Saving at a place like this is a gamble that it won't be at the upper end of the scale and be a nuisance.

I have a bunch of guitars and I've played for over twenty years, and I cannot think of a single time where I've thought "yep, this one's too heavy to play". If you like it, buy it

I truly envy you. If I get a guitar that's over 8 pounds, I'm thinking, there's a version of this that's 7 1/2 pounds. 😂

I have an explorer that's pretty beefy but, eh, even then it doesn't feel too bad. I think it's more the standing on these aging knees at this point

Weight distribution definitely makes a difference. One guitar that I sent back was a Wolfgang EVH with that small body and it was 8.6 pounds and it just felt like a rock on the knee. I think if it were a Strat style body that was longer and fuller, the weight would've been more evenly felt. So not all weights are equal.
