Always worried about counterfeit or super old products with Amazon. The olaplex I ordered from the last Walmart deal had a manufacture date from close to 3 years ago.
I'm sure this post will get dislikes, but Olaplex sucks big time. I believe it's all marketing and their online "agents" that posts most of the good things about this brand. This comes from a person who has been using their products for a while now, and I'm not the only one. I wouldn't waste my money on this. Wish it were true and worked, I don't mind paying high prices if the product is good, but unfortunately this brand is Not the one

thanks OP, bought one. I tried this last time there was a discount and it's pretty good. I like the way it makes my hair feel- seems to add a little volume (male, thinning hair). Don't think I'd justify at full price but at this price, in for another.

Could you recommend a good "less harmful chemical" shampoo brand? I'm on a hunt for one. Thank you.

I recently got the Olaplex 3 for $15. Now I am worried about possibility of counterfeit products. 😳
Are the shampoo & conditioner worth the hype?
The Olaplex shampoo #4 is horrible. HORRIBLE. I used it after applying 0 and 3. When I followed up by washing with 4 I just felt that all of the moisture that was being pushed back into my hair with 0 & 3 was being sucked right out. I can't begin to tell you how disappointed I was with the shampoo. The conditioner #5 is OK. Not brilliant but maybe slightly above average.

If you only use Olaplex shampoo & conditioner then I understand why you think the entire line sucks. However using the system according to your hair's needs (I use # 0, followed by #3, then I wash with a different brand shampoo, and follow up with Olaplex deep conditioner #8) and my hair is very soft and frizz free.

There are tons of places that sell fake Olaplex online, Amazon being just one of them. Also Walmart, Ebay, Posh, etc. No wonder people complain that the products don't work.
Much better to buy from an authorized reseller like Sephora. And, Olaplex´own website has specials and sales all the time.

Are you sure you bought the product from Olaplex or one of the very few authorized resellers? Because there is tons of fake Olaplex on the market.

Yes, directly from their WebSite. Couple of times too. I've tried using them in so many different ways as Olaplex recommended or/and how others recommended.
There are so many lawsuits going on against Olaplex too. I've just realized it's all big marketing, and most of the online posts are fake or autogenerated and they all seem to say the same thing.

Amazon is an authorized seller (per the olaplex site) and, at least currently, olaplex products are sold/shipped from Amazon with no 3rd parties listed.

I'm sorry to hear that. I am just a regular home user but I buy and use their pro line, (not the watered down consumer stuff) and it has completely changed my hair for the better. My hairdresser picks up the travel kit for me when it's on sale on the Olaplex Pro site, which is frequently.
