This phone was released in June 2024. You must have had some other phone model.

There are mutiple edge 2024 deals ongoing:

Straight talk: No port in, around $130 ( with 3 months service), unlocked after 60 days
This (Total): Port in and ID verification, around $65 (with 1 month service) + tax + fee (total around $85 for CA), unlocked after 60 days.
Metro: No port in, exactly $75 (with one month service), unlocked after 365 days

Thought I ask. I need to enter a number to verify to process to order but it will send a text code to that number. How would I go about getting that code for that number, any thoughts. Trying to get a phone in Canada. I have no way of verifying a number.
I used a family member's phone for the text verification, then ported with NB when the phone arrived. Otherwise, you'll have to pay for texting from NB first, then you can get the verification text, so might cost you a little more.

Just checking to see if anyone happens to have a possible solution. I ordered mine Saturday so that MAY be what is causing my problem. I received shipping notice yesterday for arrival today so it may be too late anyway to not burn my GV number.

Every time I try to login, I receive

"We apologize, but we cannot process your transaction at this time. Please try again later...." and I can't do anything with my account.

Have tried incognito, computer, different browsers.

Any other things I can try?
Just closing the loop on this. Not sure if my issues were because I ordered on the weekend or because my account was created as part of the phone purchase or something else entirely. Anyway, I never was able to login to my account via email after the order. Once the phone arrived I could login using imie and complete activation. It let me select "new number" and completed activation. We'll see if there end up being any issues.

Seems like a very nice phone. I'm comparing to a moto stylus 5g 2022 also purchased via SD deal. I like that this is a little smaller. We'll see what I end up thinking of the wrap-around display. Does this display have potential issues with cheapo cases that SAY they are compatible?

I keep getting this, with various different cards and payment methods. Any ideas of what causes it?

"Alert
We are sorry. Your payment was declined. Please use another payment method or contact the card issuer."
Any thoughts on this?

Thanks for the reply. I will need to look into it. Getting a number to pass verification and another one to port.

What was the total for the phone after plan/taxes?
Do you know how long you have to port the number out.

Thanks

what I did was use Google Voice for text verification, but when I received the phone, I didn't port in from GV. I activated with new number just fine.

Thanks.
I'm in Canada and Google Voice is not an option. How did you activate it with a new number. I thought you had to port. Anything special you did to get it to work.

All the system needed was to verify that you have a number eligible to port in to Total Wireless. but it does not require you to actually port in after we receive the phone.

I never used either of them but this phone supports "Ready For" feature which makes your phone turn into a little PC or media player when hooked to your TV or laptop.

Better than both IMO. Only real downside to this is the curved screen and the software update policy. The update policy isn't a big deal though as this is still a pretty new model and support doesn't end until 2027. I think most going for these type of deals will have long moved on to the next before that end support date is reached. Not sure about camera quality. One may be marginally better than the other, but outside of a few flagship models, NONE of the android phones are as good as iPhone or those few flagships so kinda splitting hairs there anyways. Otherwise the Edge is better in pretty much every way.

If I buy this phone online how long do I have to port/activate the phone. Is there anything in the terms in conditions. Can it be like 30, 60 or 90 days.

Have up to 1 year to activate. Plan is TIED to phone IMEI when you activate on website. Faster you activate the faster 60 day automatic unlock timer starts to use on other carriers.

You can try to activate with new number on the website to bypass the port requirement it will tell you if it requires a port then you click Keep Number instead.

Thanks. I just trying to do this without screwing it up.
So I can get a new number instead of porting on in. And special techniques I should do to make sure that happens.
