Yes Google voice worked for verification without unlocking it once get device pay $3 to unlock GV for porting or try activate with new number YMMV or port different number on activate page.

These Automatically unlock with only 1 month service after Activation on 60th day can confirmed unlock date by texting UNLOCK to 611611

I think it would get unlocked if you can connect it to WiFi.

I just ordered a second free phone without a problem. Total paid is $30 plus any taxes.

yeah I think I'm running into this too, it feels like what happens is the discount only applies right after you do the verification, if you change your cart at all the discount goes away....

NumberBarn told me this, Make sure Verizon knows this is a wireline port so they can choose port settings appropriately
All numbers purchased from NumberBarn are classified as wireline or landline as opposed to wireless.
