After unlock can I run TracFone on this?
Yes, but if it's still showing in their database as TW (even as inactive) you may have to call support & have them remove it first. My unlocked ST phone wouldn't activate with new TF BYOP sim until I did, system wouldn't accept IMEI.
My previous unlocked ST phone activated on TF without contacting support so it's YMMV.

Sign up with a new email id and different port in number from Google voice
I understand that this would make the phone free, but would this not cause the phone plan to be $65 since this is a new account?

You are basically selling your personal identification documents for the deal. Your IDs and selfie

Ridiculous

Moto edge 2024 or Samsung A35? They both seem pretty similar

Not the original poster, but can confirm this works. I activated account using website when the phone shipped and requested a NEW number (NO port in). Popped in the sim when I got my phone, texted UNLOCK to 611611, and received confirmation message with my future unlock date.

Even tried making an outbound phone call and it worked, so looks like my account is activated and good to go.
I don't even see the IMEI in the manage line option. Nothing in the drop down list. The phone is shipped and on the way though.

Same with the dentists. Already ripping off with insurance why you need my SSN!
I just find it ridiculous how much info is harvested. There's almost no sense of privacy anymore, and these companies have a tendency to experience data leaks...Total will most likely face a breach at some point in time, and criminals are probably going to make replicas of the IDs (new faces).

Even if they don't get the SSN from one company, it'll probably leak from a credit union or bank.

Once they have a social, copy of active ID, address and phone number it's a wrap.

Moto. Samsung is slow because of all the apps you can't uninstall

Google appears to be charging $20 to port out my Google voice number. Is there a better way to port out without paying that fee? Or I just need to go straight to ordering and requesting a port in?

Just received the phone and finished the activation (port in GV). Can make calls, send messages, and surf the internet. But text UNLOCK twice to 611611, get "Sorry, there was a problem processing your request, please call 611." Anybody knows what is going wrong?

Activate on Total when it arrives to start the clock on the unlock. From there it depends on which prepaid company you want to use. If its another Verizon MVNO like TracFone, straight talk, etc...those should still work while the phone is still locked. I've already tried a family member's TracFone sim in mine myself so I know at least TracFone works. If another carrier, then you'll have to wait the 60 days for unlock.

What you do in the mean time depends on what you did with your number. If you ported your T-Mobile number you want to keep, you'll have to either continue paying total until unlock or port back out before that initial month is up but you won't be able to use this phone before that 60 days is up if it's not to another Verizon company.
Thanks for this! That's kinda what I was thinking, but I wanted to make sure. I will end up porting out my Tmo number. I don't mind a month or 2 to get the unlock, I just wanted to move to US Mobile or the visible deal and prepaid is a whole new animal nowadays lol. Thanks again!

I've messed around with both of them. The A35 is noticeably faster and the screen is much better. The lack of moto support is also a deal breaker for me as I tend to keep phones for awhile.

Is there anything that needs to be done for the unlock? Is it automatic?
Will it work if phone is outside the country?
