When you put the different carrier card with WiFi on, it would automatically contact the server to get unlocking eligible status, either unlock it or deny the unlocking request.
When they say $65 with a free phone ,but they charge you around $90 . Metro is honest that free phone is free phone without the fake taxes on original price

ANY TracFone related companies, their pretend they keep records.
Their CS just make things up on the fly.
Several times they told me my phone was never activated, even though I am talking to them on that same phone. No, did not swap SIMs.

any phone you ever used it shows up in your account as "inactive line with IMEI # besides it".
(certainly no tax expert) A quick search/read makes it look like MOST states don't do it that way. I'm not finding the specific example of free goods as part of a service tho.
