Though I recently started having issue where water doesn't flow and the machine stops after 5 seconds. If you just google "barista pro stops after 5 seconds." You'll see plenty of information on it. I am now in contact with Breville trying to get this resolved.
I also learned that I cannot take the machine to local shops for repair. I must send it to Breville for repair which I find ridiculous…..
The thing with these is warranty, 2 years limited is somewhat crappy imo for a $850 machine especially when used on a daily basis. However, Breville support seems okay so far and I've read that their repair cost is somewhat reasonable.
Another thing is that you need to be able to take care of the machine. So many people had the water pipes clogged because they procrastinated on descaling. For myself, i could never remember changing the water filter every 2 months….
As the saying goes "if you take care of the machine, it'll take care of you"
So other than the stated issue above, overall I am happy with it when it works. It makes great coffee.

-Google Pavlis Water, an easy and proven recipe for making water that gives the coffee better taste while using distilled water, and most importantly never requires descaling
-you should upgrade the grinder's top part to include a rubber baffle. This makes it far more "zero retention" and helps get the most grinds out
-know that there's an internal fine adjustment on the grinder so you actually have much more flexibility and range than the digital dial
-there are inexpensive and easy upgraded metal handles for the milk steamer which are really nice qol improvements
-cleaning is so easy I just use tabs from Amazon and at my volume it's a 5 min monthly to do with the automated cycle
-buy a bottomless portofilter so you can inspect your shots better if you're new to this
in 2 years we've only had to replace the rubber seal on the head which was very easy and inexpensive, and was essentially making the portofilter move around under the pressure of the machine. it now is very tight and solid.
This is a Walmart level espresso setup...way better off getting a nice used grinder like a mazzer mini and pairing with a cheap gaggia.

However, I have had this Breville Pro Espresso machine for over 2 years now pulling at least 3-4 espresso shots every day and I can confidently say that it's a great machine at least for our needs.
Since we have gotten this machine we are so used to the espresso lattes with our favorite dark blend of coffee that my wife and I have such a hard time and trouble getting adjusted to the coffee sold in most of those coffee shops and other places especially when we are traveling or vacationing…we personally have not come across any coffee shop yet that has even come close to the one we make at home with this machine….it's definitely not the same.
The quality and the taste of a good cup of coffee is heavily dependent on the quality, roast and the freshness of the beans and of course the way how you like to make it..
I take it with me when I travel, too.
Tip- use good water. I have a reverse osmosis system. Good water in = good coffee out. Municipal contaminants will scale and foul any machine like this eventually.
The two Breville alternatives to this machine are Bambino (nearly the same, but you buy a separate grinder), or the Breville Dual Boiler (you still need a separate grinder).
This machine is definitely better than the Barista Express, because this machine switches between brewing and milk steaming almost instantly. The Dual Boiler can brew espresso and steam milk at the same time, which is even better.
For me, this is the only way to go. I have a more expensive Italian dual boiler machine, but the principle is the same: You weigh out your beans (17 or 18 grams, your choice), you grind exactly that much, tamp, and brew the espresso. Then you steam the milk and pour the milk over your espresso. I do this every morning and as long as you have good beans, the flavor is incredible.
