Can someone show me a legit study that shows the performance of this unit and how it stacks up against other air purifiers?
If you're okay with the ionizer, I would recommend this unit.

I've run Winix air purifiers in every bedroom of the house for a decade now (due to kids with allergies, oldest has them extremely bad). Also last year, I picked up a Dyson Bp03 last year for an open area living space to help with filtering out cooking smells.
TBH, the bedroom purifiers mostly stay because all the kids were raised since birth with white noise so it helps get everyone to sleep faster and easier. They do a great job filtering out dust and such, but the reality is that the air it's sucking in is probably large parts air it just spewed out + new air it's sucking in from outside the space you're intending to purify, so not sure how efficient any air purifier really is. It definitely does help (Winix detects farts every single time!), but I'd take the sq footage ratings with a huge grain of salt as I think it has alot more to do than just CFM.
The one thing I liked about the Bp03 marketing shpeel is that it's exhaust fan is designed to throw the exhaust air as far from the intake as much as possible to help ensure it's actually sucking in "dirty" air. Kinda like how the Vornado fans are designed more to circulate room air vs. direct air flow in your face.
But just like running AC, if you're anything short of an enclosed room with a door shut, there's going to be a lot of "mixing" from other spaces, so the only real way I feel to get a truly cleaner air environment is to evenly distribute multiple purifiers strategically across your whole house. Comparatively, using a "3000 sq ft" air purifier would be trying to rely on an AC window unit to cool 3000 sq ft, the air simply will not flow that efficiently throughout that space unless it's a sealed rectangle w/ no walls.
