Hard to imagine buying the older model over the OLED. Even catching a sale on this while not being able to on the OLED, it just doesn't make sense to not pay that little bit extra to get the OLED. I suppose if one solely plays docked, it makes some sense but I fail to come up with other reasons to buy the older model over the OLED.

Does it impact graphics whether or not it OLED when purely using it for TV connected game play?

When connected to the TV, you'll get no benefit from the OLED model over the standard. The benefit of the OLED model is basically the screen on the Switch. The original screen doesn't really hold up very well in 2024 whereas the OLED screen is quite nice and a clear, definitive upgrade. If you solely play on the TV (that is what is called "docked" mode), you'll get no extra benefit paying more for the OLED model.

Not at all unless you need the extra 32gb of storage or the Ethernet port on the OLED

Unless you already have Mario Kart or don't want it..the holiday $299 bundle is a better deal.

FWIW, the local pawn shop near me always has 3+ of these for sale for $140. Used of course, but occasionally they're bundled in extra controllers and stuff.

Non OLED fair price is $199 for end of 2024. That's brand new and just "fair" price, not even a deal. For $265 don't even think about buying this.

You are probably 100% right. Especially this year when I fully expect Switch sales to be very low compared to previous years. I understand not wanting to drop the price because component prices have not gone down. But, I think packing two games in with a 12 month basic online pass isn't too much to ask. Especially being digital games..it can't cost them much to offer those.
I think this would have gone over well:
