Thanks OP! I just added a google voice number to my google account and ported that in. Takes no time at all. You'll need to go to GV settings and pay $3.00 to unlock the number. You'll also need to enable the "Call to Listen" setting under Voicemail which will let you set a PIN which Metro will ask for. You'll also need the google account number which is just the phone number.

How long will it take if not call port department for GV number working properly? does anybody know? thanks!
I have read that it takes 7-30 days for the complete Google voice port. On a previous phone, it took 27 days for me. If you need the number just call port dept otherwise, leave it alone.

What happens when your 30 day Metro service ends and the porting hasn't completed and you decide not to renew?

I don't tell them it's a GV number to port. I just tell them that my outgoing calls and text are working, but my incoming don't work. They then ask you security questions to make sure you're the Metro account owner. In today's call, the rep I spoke with said that since I'm porting a "land line", it takes longer to complete the port...but she said she can force a manual port to expedite. Couple of minutes later, incoming calls/texts started to work. No need to reboot the iPhone..although she said to go ahead and do it anyway.

She said that the actual porting process started a couple of days ago (I'm guessing when I placed my order last Thursday)...and that since it's been several days, she could force a manual port. I guess GV numbers are considered land line numbers.
Great info! That makes sense, 2 GV numbers took time to port but 1 TracFone was almost instantaneous.

I had two Metro i12's that I traded in to Best Buy toward Pixel 8's so I didn't care that the GV numbers ported in were not completed. With one phone, Google sent me an email on Day 27 that the Porting was completed. With the other phone, I got the email on Day 31, after the line already got suspended.

It only takes about 5-10 minutes to contact Metro's porting department and request the completion of your port from Google Voice. You should receive an email from Google right after the porting process is finished.
At that point, you can use the same Google account to get a new Google Voice number and link it with your current Metro number. This way, you'll have a new Google Voice number ready for the next Metro deal, and it only costs $3 to unlock it for porting out in the future.

Yup. Best to call Metro porting dept to finish porting right then and there vs waiting for a random day to complete the port.

Based on my experience with iphone12, these unlock work with carrier using T-Mobile signal. If you intend to use on att or Verizon, you won't get cell signal
Previously purchased IPhone 12 from Metro under the old 6 month unlock policy. Once unlocked, I can confirm working flawlessly on USMobile which runs on Verizon network

They were talking about RSIM. Completely different.
