Thanks OP! I just added a google voice number to my google account and ported that in. Takes no time at all. You'll need to go to GV settings and pay $3.00 to unlock the number. You'll also need to enable the "Call to Listen" setting under Voicemail which will let you set a PIN which Metro will ask for. You'll also need the google account number which is just the phone number.

Went through the US Mobile Porting method. As I was finishing the transaction at Metro, it showed up a 5 step verification part. Then it timed out and now I can't use the number to port out

Wait about 4-6 hrs and Metro will release the hold on the number. Then you can try again.
