the one with the giant screw on head is the E series. yes gunk can get into the base of the giant screw on part and get moldy. But I find the E series with a much stronger motor with angled brush head and are much better at cleaning my teeth. I just unscrew the head about once a week and rinse it out with water and let the inside dry out. no more mold and much better cleaning.
Meh, I'll bite. Tired of spending the big bucks on the top model, only to have driveshaft failure after about a year. It's happened to me about 4 times already...
The one with the giant screw on heads? If yes, I'd say upgrade. Otherwise, not worth upgrading.
