Only 90-day warranty, so you might want to factor in the optional insurance that they offer.

Especially with the i9-13900KF CPU. Lots of 13- and 14-gen Intel CPUs up for sale nowadays—(individual or bundled) + (used or refurbished). So, be cautious.

Not with Intel directly, so you a middleman to go through in case you get issues

Would not touch this deal with a 10 foot pole. The 13900KF is one of the CPUs affected by the recent Intel issues. If this was brand new it might be safe to just download the new micro code fix and pray for the best but this is a refurb so chances are this has already incurred problems and Lenovo installed the micro code fix and is trying to minimize their losses.

Totally agree with this. Woot is also really bad about warranty as well. I never buy anything expensive through them after having trying to get them to honor their 90 day warranty with some security cameras. I had to sick the BBB on this to get them to respond.

About to buy, is the microcode that bad?

After reading, seems all is well.

Game on!

This is a refurbished unit so you have no way of telling whether the chip has already been damaged before the microcode updates.

100% Totally agree with you and avoid Lenova like the plague! I have one of these paperweights where the mother board went bad after 10 mos of use...second mother board 2 months and toast. Support is absolute joke along with their "warranty"

For reference, this is the cost of similar DIY new builds:
- https://pcpartpicker.com/b/mKgtt6 $2130.38 + tax
- https://pcpartpicker.com/b/Nvhtt6 $2431.51 + tax

Their specs are not exactly the same as the pre-built, and people will certainly have their own preferences DIY vs pre-built, new vs refurbished, etc. I just wanted to get a rough reference price for the hardware.

Refurb on the 13900 is a big no for me. also the price cuts just happened to the 13th and 14th intel chips. i would pass on this and look at the other deals posted from Lenovo or wait a week until the big sales start.

Availability is likely a huge consideration, your alternative isn't available.
