Good deal but if you're looking for an AM4 upgrade for gaming purposes you're likely better off opting for the 5700X3D as the 3D cache usually results in higher average FPS and better 1% lows. 5800X will beat it slightly in productivity tasks. 5700X3D price has been coming down and you can usually find it on AliExpress for around $150 if you want to take on the small risk of being without a consumer warranty.

This would be an amazing upgrade from a Ryzen 5 or Zen 1 Ryzen 7. Trying to decide if it'd be worth it for an R7-3700x in my kids pc - think I'll wait for an x3d version though.

great deal, got it upgrade my AM4 rig running on 2700x. will likely undervolt to run cooler. 5700x is my choice but no deal on that I guess.

For a new build I'd never go with a dead socket. You can get a 7500f(aliexpress), DDR5 and a AM5 board for not much more(if not the same). AM5 is supported till like 2027. IMO this is only a deal if you are on AM4 with a older zen chip.

Great deal!! If you are new to building your PC, just know this chip does not have on board graphics. You need to supply your own graphics card.
I don't need another AMD chip but I just couldn't pass this deal up. I built 4 computers for my kids, all when I got deals on Ryzen 5 5600G. They were cheap, reliable, and had on board graphics, so I didn't have to buy each one a graphics card. I am thinking I will upgrade each one's build with this faster chip now and then won't have replace the motherboard, and use the savings to buy a 3060 that keep dropping in price.

I'm still on a 2700x on a b550 mobo for this price it definitely worth it.

Is this a worthwhile upgrade for a 5600x? I haven't had any issues, but for this price I was thinking it might be worth it to get an extra year or two from my build. I use mainly autocad, revit and gaming

I ordered a 5700x3d for $147 shipped last week on aliexpress. I have a 5700x and am running into it's limits now even with a 6700xt and 32 gb ram. The 5700x3d is much better than the 5800x for gaming.
