ARM laptops that were launched less than six months ago are going on massive discounts already. 40% off! This does not bode well for the future of Windows on ARM...
Otherwise this looks like a very nice device with a gorgeous screen. Offers very good value if you can live with the compatibility issues.

If the OLED screen on this is the major draw, there are plenty of Intel-based laptops (even in this price range) with beautiful OLED screens that don't force you to be a guinea pig for testing ARM Windows and apps. OLED is beautiful, no doubt, but not enough to compromise on the compatibility. Some say battery life is good but not great.

Just waste of money buying an arm based laptop.

Are there more? I've been really lusting for one of these ARM laptops, and haven't seen much in the way of deals around here.

Also, isn't big discounts kinda run of the mill for Windows laptops? For the Intel ones, even for recent ones, I feel like we see huge discounts all the time.

These things are cheaper to make than Intel/amd, they were just priced higher because they wanted to more quickly recoup some of their r&d costs.

They were hoping the AI bandwagon would be a bigger selling point too, but the local windows AI stuff hasn't been good, so consumers don't care. It makes sense we are seeing discounts.

I'm still watching them for their battery life improvements and therefore weight improvements though.

There is a deal on the Surface Pro 11 as well. Posted on SD yesterday. That one is not as juicy. It's the usual "we throw in a keyboard cover that should be included to begin with" kind of deal.

Waiting on the firesell. Since no one is buying them. Will probably be $500 in the next 6 months. Great hardware but did not lived up to the hype

I think some people are definitely keeping them. Open box Lenovo Yoga 7x for ~$700 is a good purchase for a casual user. Also waiting for the black Friday. Smilie

With Intel Lunar Lake processors out that has all of the benefits and none of the compatibility issues as these ARM laptops, these need to be 75-80% off to be even considered. It's a glorified chromebook at this point.

I agree with you. I wouldn't touch Windows on ARM. Until its market share hits 50% (probably never), none of the app developers will treat is as their first priority.

I wish MS could just switch over to ARM overnight like Apple did it. But that can't happen and won't happen for Windows.

You can always return it if it goes much lower over BF.

At this point, why would Microsoft do that? The Intel Lunar lake processors have all of the benefits and none of the compatibility issues as these.

They have started their holiday return policy already?
