Why? I thought these would be worth a try, mine is in the goodwill pile now
Because my wife and I both make 20oz cups every morning. We've been aeropress users since 2013. Any other questions?

Ended up purchasing this per your request, any good reading on the inversion method?
Nice. Here's a good video: https://youtu.be/VAbOuPNlPSA?si=F0bp6ORTAcaMfnQ0
As Ricosuave mentioned, just make sure everything's secure (the plunger & cap) and be careful when flipping it over to avoid spills. Hasn't happened to me but I guess I could see how...

How much grind do you put for that 20oz? I use about 3 scopes for 16oz

Heated plastic is just going to leach either BPA or BPS. You're better off buying something else made primarily of metal and glass.

It is generally recommended to brew coffee by weight of beans as opposed to volume of grounds.
A typical ratio is 1 g beans for every ~17 g of water. That means for 20 oz (~591 g) of water, you'd want to use ~36 g of ground coffee beans.

Ok so 1:17 in grams. I'll try that next time.

Honestly, I've never weighed it. I know the puck is pretty thick. Basically I just dialed in my grind size and time to our liking. When I got my Eureka grinder about a month ago it took quite a bit of trial and error because it would grind so much more fine and uniform. I figure I'll have to do some more finagling when this XL comes in but it should be worth it. We definitely weren't using the original aeropress as it was intended, but you just can't beat how quick and easy it is to make coffee plus easy clean up.

Depends what you prioritize. Metal has a slightly longer clean up time (20 second rinse?). Paper would just push the puck out and rinse.

If taste is priority maybe metal is better.
