Question - What makes this unit @ $200, so much better than other equivalent machines, for $60-150ish? TIA! (This is for hobby, not professional/industrial work)

I'm excited to get rid of my piece of junk Harbor Freight drill press. Reviews are generally good regarding run out. I'll look into upgrading the chuck if it wobbles too much.
I think Variable speed DEFINITELY makes a HUMONGOUS difference.
I had to look up the inches to understand the difference lol... but is it worth the extra $150 for just a basic hobbyish going from 8in to 12in?
I don't think I'd use it for any crazy projects. (At most i'd be drilling through metal or glass at super slow speeds) What use cases would require a longer throw vs shorter 8in throw?
