Just to note, this is the 2022 version and doesn't have the improved burn-in prevention algorithm like the 2024 version does. The new version is $720.
250nits on an OLED is *plenty* bright due to the true blacks and the way we perceive brightness. Since individual pixels can be turned on/off, OLEDs have near infinite contrast ratio--the difference in brightness between a black pixel and a white pixel. Traditional LCDs have a backlight, which causes blacks to glow. Raising the floor so to speak requires increasing the brightness to have the same visual impact of contrast. That's why HDR LCDs have peak brightness levels in the 2000+ nits range--it's required to achieve a similar level of contrast experienced with an OLED display.

Side by side the 400nit LCD will appear brighter than the 250nit OLED, but it'll also be significantly more washed out because the Dell has a 3000:1 contrast ratio, whereas the OLED is "infinite" (I put it on quotations because in reality the screen coating reflects some ambient light). The only time you'll miss that extra brightness on an OLED is if you're fighting against ambient light.

The bottom line is comparing brightness levels between OLEDs and LCDs is misleading. Old school CRTs and plasma displays only had about 100nits full screen brightness. You don't need your display to blast your retinas with light unless you're in a bright viewing environment or you're trying to offset the display's poor representation of blacks.
Using it for 2 years for work and play, no burn in. A lot of static images

New all time low, last I saw was $600. Question now is will it get lower around BF?

Can you do free returns at Best Buy if you don't like it? Hoping the text fringe isn't noticeable

I have this monitor and love it. The micro ports kinda suck but it's easy enough to get the right cable. Comes with a DP to micro DP, but I'm using HDMI to the tiny little hdmi.

Should this be used exclusively for gaming or can I use it as a work monitor too? Would the text be crisp if I attached it to my M1 MacBook Pro?

OLED isn't great if it's gonna have static images, i.e the windows bars on bottom or the MacOS taskbar.

Happy to be proven wrong. But I'm not sure I'd trust this for an everyday work monitor.

And 250nits brightness is low isn't it? The Dell 34inch curved I just bought today has 400nits 😂

I have this monitor and the only issue is HDR color processing being washed out in Windows, an inherent problem with the OS. For example, PS5 is fine.
SDR picture quality is as good as any QD OLED without any noticeable text fringing, sitting 1.5 Feet plus from the screen.
Comes with vesa monitor adapter and Mini-Display port to Display port cable.

I'm not sure if this has changed but 2 years ago i picked up Samsung Buds at best buy from a Samsung.com order and they told me returns have to via samsung (aka mail it back) since the order info is on Samsung, not Best Buy. Not sure if the policy has changed since.

I have this monitor as well and I haven't noticed any washout of HDR in windows, but then again- I found a Reddit post when I first got it that walked me through some of the more complex HDR settings, and I made some changes. Maybe that's why, but mine is fine with windows.

It can be used for work but not as good as a quality IPS panel due to text fringing and static burn in; amazing for gaming and movies though. I would pass on an OLED monitor if your use case is more than 75% productivity or get the best of both worlds: an IPS monitor for productivity and 2nd OLED screen like an LG C3/C4 for media.
