I have this mounted on the outside of my house under awning. Granted not a lot of rain in California but has lasted years
The camera moves up and hidden when you turn them off, so yes it does
Not true. Recordings can be stored on the SD card and viewed any time through the app/portal 100% free, no subscription.

i have 5+ of these still running fine since 2018, indoors. All streaming RTSP feeds to Home Assistant with Motioneye add-on for a self-hosted home security DVR system, with motion tracking. The human/pet/other tracking is decent. You can also disable tracking movement if you want a fixed camera angle. You can use the Eufy Security app or web site to view streams and view recordings, if you dont want to get fancy with DVR. Picture quality is good, audio is OK.
Sounds interesting - but can you explain it a little better or point to a how-to or something? thanks!

Possible anyone can make a alternate recommendations based on my perceived deficiencies of this cam?

Is there a better option for BOTH iOS/macOS that has the 360° look around button exposed and available in landscape orientation? This one ONLY has that functionality exposed explicitly in portrait orientation! And it's infuriating why that is a limitation especially when used on OSX with a Mac! I have found NO workaround or shortcut yet to bypass the OSD buttons that are Only exposed when in Portrait orientation.

Is there a alternative option that has this functionality not arbitrarily hidden behind a orientation setting of the device, one that is absolutely ridiculous oversight on a Mac!

Would also like to be able to Mark permanent Home position, this one makes any view that was manually positioned the New Home position. Would like the ability to return to a known specific position/positions with a single click. Or even time out and return to the home position, or when utilizing 360°, return to the known home position.

I've been using this camera as a baby monitor for two years now, and recommend it, with one caveat: when I bought this for use as a baby monitor, I thought I would just sit it on a shelf next to the crib so it could look down at the kiddo. This camera is not able to look down very far -- maybe 30 or 40 degrees below the horizon. I ended up getting a 3D printed mount to hang it upside-down from the closet door so it can look down further by looking "up" relatively to its orientation. Even with the extra purchase of a mount, this is still much, much cheaper than an actual baby monitor, with the added bonus of being usable for something else down the road.

Plus, now that the kiddo is getting into her toddler years, I can speak through this camera to tell her to pipe down when she decides to start singing to herself at 3am.

Having another kid so I'm all in for another one. After the kids grow up, these will probably become garage monitors.

For anyone with security concerns: Eufy did get caught recently (past couple of years) being somewhat less than honest about their security practices: it was possible to stream an unencrypted video link over the net, and I believe their doorbell cams sent an image to the cloud for image processing the first time it registered a new person. So far, every time a security flaw has been discovered with a Eufy product, it has been fixed, as far as I know. That being said, if you have concerns over using a camera that pings the cloud as a baby monitor, then don't do it, simple as.

you may be right. it's been a while since I tried the site. When i go to https://mysecurity.eufylife.com and use the PIN generated by the Eufy app, the camera feed is just saying, "Establishing a secure connection". It didnt connect. You can still use the app remotely, for free, though.

To the other person who replied asking for a better explanation: I'm referring to enabling RTSP streaming in the Eufy app, then using a raspberry pi to run Home Assistant (https://www.home-assistant.io) with the motionEye (https://www.home-assistant.io/int.../motioneye) add-on to capture the RTSP streaming feeds from the cameras. motionEye then records to your pi or NAS, continuously or triggered by motion. There's a fair bit of tinkering and research involved to get everything running, but $30 per camera, $50 pi, and $75 external hard drive aint bad for a DIY security camera DVR system.

something to be aware of: recent spate of "crime tourism" from visitors of central america visiting to perform residential robberies. There are wifi jammers that can render these non-hardwired cameras ineffective. The even plant leaf-looking-like cameras across the street to gauge when the occupants are away.

Mine lasted 1.5 years in the garage before the video feed stopped working. Had no luck with swapping/reformatting the SD card. Eufy couldn't offer a repair/replacement since it was past the 1 year warranty. I took it apart, and couldn't see any damage (blow fuses/burn marks). Once I put it back together it worked the same as before, no visual feed. Audio & oration still worked though.
It may be the power adapter issue. I have two eufy Cam C120 stopped streaming a while ago. Both worked again after I changed the power adapters.

I purchase these (a set of 2) last July 2023 and the good thing is that you don't need a subscription. Just slide a SD card and you don't need to pay a monthly fee. The downside is if a thief took the camera, you are out of luck. I believe you could buy a sentry to store it in your home, but I didn't want to over spend. The motion detector is good. Having said that, I personally won't recommend these unless you are trying to spend less and want to have access to see inside your home while you are gone (remotely). From the first set, one worked fine (still is), but the second one you couldn't hear anything. Requested a replacement, which they did, but it had the same problem (couldn't pick up any sound). The camera works on all three, but only one microphone works (1/3, eh). If they fixed their problems, it is a good buy, but if the replacement had the same issue as the original one, not sure how good their quality control is. Just my experience with this product.

Motion/person/pet detection is done locally and footages can be saved to the SD card. All these can work without WiFi connection. However, WiFi connection is needed to view live or recorded video.

Not the snapshots when they detect activity. You can view it on their app or on the web (but require code from the app everytime you open a session).

I have Eufy cameras all over the house, both outdoors and indoors. They work pretty well but don't record continuously.
By "snapshot" you mean single frame?

All my Eufy cams with microSD cards installed record continuously as configured to do so in the app. There are occasional glitches but they're generally reliable.

Stored on the (micro)SD card? Yes.

Viewed through the web portal with no subscription? I'm skeptical. Not possible when I didn't have a subscription, but it has been a while. (Even *with* a subscription, the ability to view recordings in the web portal was removed and missing for months. Meanwhile Wyze caught up and leaped ahead of Eufy in the functionality and polish of their web portal).

The PIN process you're describing is for viewing live feeds in the web portal, not recordings. I doubt the connection issue you're describing is related to having a subscription or not - sounds like a technical issue.

Yeah i didn't put the microSD card in the cameras. Half of them are outside and are solar powered so that is not possible.

I might do that for the 2 i have inside the house.

These are great and have survived outdoors under the eaves through two New Hampshire winters so far. Electronics love the cold.

All of their cams, as of current, send a thumbnail image to the cloud for alerts and notifications. It's no secret, it tells you when you select it. You may also opt out not to have an alert with a thumbnail.
