Hori Split Pad Pro for Nintendo Switch

If you are an adult and have average or bigger size hands, and your hands get cramped while playing with the joycons, this really is more ergonomic.

I was unable to play for more than 20 to 30 minutes before I got one of these, because my thumbs would cramp up. I find the joycons very uncomfortable to use. This solves that.

Note: they must be attached to the switch to use and they don't have motion controls. But they are soooo much better for me to play with.

Are these really that much more comfortable than joycons? I've been debating on them.

They're awkwardly chunky. They're also deceptively light for their size which makes them feel cheap. I think I prefer a grip over these.

Got the compact version of this from last deal. Gamechanger. I could not play with joycons. Just too small. I can play handheld mode now. Just realize no rumble.

Simply put, yes.

These are better than the compact split pad for fast paced gamepad action but the compact feels a ton better in the hands. They're both comfortable but the pro feels awkwardly wide by comparison.
