2 of them have been free on Amazon Prime Gaming, you probably already have them, FYI.

At least steam is being transparent about it, it's the same with every digital storefront tbh

Steam is doing that because of California law that passed. Nothing has changed. If congress passed a law that said the have to declare your digital purchase as owning a copy of the game that would be stated instead.

You realize Steam is how 99.9% of gamers play? I haven't bought a PC disk in over a decade.

Maybe you're implying try GoG or such, but that's not how modern games work.

These run on MacOS too. Intel and the newer Apple Silicon M1/M2/M3 chips.

Great price on these.

There might have been a couple DLCs that aren't compatible, I think they're all multi-player related (which I don't think works for MacOS).

This is how it is with Digital Media, they can revoke your access to their content because you don't own the Media but a License to use only by you and you are not supposed to share it, just like your Netflix account, you aren't supposed to share that either but people do what people do, I prefer to have a disk to put in my PC or Console, I only buy digital games or movies if It is cheap enough $10 or lower and or If I can save a copy of it locally, preferably both, that being said, movies you used to buy the disk and get a digital copy, games should be the same way.

do they even make physical PC games anymore..?
i haven't even had a DVD/BR drive in my last 4 PC builds... there's a USB DVD/BR drive stuffed somewhere in the back of my closet, can't remember the last time i needed it.

it is funny people didn't know that this is how it works... it's how it's always worked, nothing new here.

Steam only did this because there is a law coming in January 2025 that they had to comply with, it isn't that they wanted to do it.
