These look to be readily available. I would hold out for a better deal. They might offer bundles closer to Christmas. As it stands now it's not worth the cost.
Is there a compelling reason to spend extra for the Pro version?
If you don't already have a PS5 and money isn't an issue then it's an ok upgrade. Personally I'm fine with my OG PS5, but I've got a friend sick with cancer who really wants one but can't afford it. So I preordered one and I'm going to surprise him with it. I figure you don't get charged until it ships so if a better deal comes along I'll cancel this and grab that. But I wanted to at least lock it in for now.

to post in forums you own one..?
i can't even remember the last time i turned on my PS5, the XBSX gets more use... but honestly my PC gets far more use than both these days. in hindsight, i shouldn't have bought a PS5 at all... really a waste of money as far as I'm concerned.
a pro version is supposed to be at the same msrp as pro with better chips. what happened to moore's law?
Says who?
We have had inflation because of the pandemic and the war that drives up costs quite a bit. The PS3, adjusted for inflation, was more expensive than this.
I'm strongly considering it, but the PS5 is my least used gaming system at the moment other than for some racing simulation. WiFi 7 and more space are important, you don't really have to add on additional storage when you have this much. I spent over $100 on 2Tb last time.
Chase Freedom has 5% up to $1,500 on PayPal through 12/31/24. I would rather use a Credit Card with an extended warranty on PS5 Pro purchase, such as Chase Visa. Discover and Target Debit/Credit Cards do not offer that benefit.
My best experience with the credit card warranty has been with Amex, but the best offer I have is 5 points on Walmart, up to 2,500 points only.

So you're telling me 500 today cannot buy a higher performance computer than in 2020. Got it.
