Ours had a cancel button that didn't work out of the box. You would have to unplug it for several minutes in order to change settings. Contacted the manufacturer, sent them a video of the button not working and they sent a whole new unit several days later. So now we have two units/ovens. Just the one has to be fussed with if you choose the wrong setting.
Look at the pictures. Look at the lid. It just sits on top. There is no locking mechanism for the lid to create the pressure that pressure cooking would require.
This is a slow cooker. Not a pressure cooker.

I feel like I'm struggling to understand these kinds of countertop cookers when I can just use a stove, but I could use the extra appliance if I can make a side dish or some rice in it every night or something like that.

That being said, I use my IP pressure cooker all the time for cooking rice and it works great.
