Good deal for $50. The built-in sub rounds out the sound profile. Grabbed four for the olds in my family.

Sound bar without central speaker for voice it's not very useful. BB has open box of the Samsung HW-60d for around $120...MSRP $400

Personally I think your far better off getting a pair of powered studio monitor speakers, assuming you have the room and won't want to invest in a full audio system.

in for one. I wanted a soundbar for my Mac; most soundbars lack an AUX input, but this one has one!"

There is no way this thing has a subwoofer. Physically impossible in its size.

That's an excellent soundbar and probably the best soundbar for dialog under $400

More specs here https://www.usa.philips.com/c-p/T...-subwoofer
It's a 3 in subwoofer. Seems a bit small to be a subwoofer.
No info on the frequency response. It's 100w rms at 10% THD which is a lot of distortion.

For $50 I'm curious about it, reviews seem decent enough. I'm sure I can find some use for it between my stereo or bedroom tv.

It does support TOSlink aka optical, if you're like me and don't want to waste a whole HDMI cord for this when optical is better anyway.

Optical has lower bandwidth than ARC, and with ARC you can control the volume with the TV remote so I'm not sure how optical is better. and, the power to the sound bar will be controlled by the power to the TV.
