It's not. The deal you should be looking at is the Yamaha Crosscore. Of course it's multiples more than this, but the discount is insane and you're going to get an amazing bike with excellent components.
JackRabbit XG and Yamaha Crosscore not even in the ball park! If you are going to recomend something it should be roughly available and within 30% of the same cost. Bike snobs are just do not understand, It's like comparing a $250k house to a $1,500,000 in the same town and complaining they have differnet size & specs.

A quick Reddit search shows that the motor is underpowered and had issues with riders above 160lbs 😞

Why is there at least one person who downvotes valid posts. Whether or not this is accurate it's good for potential buyers to research themselves.

Ok, now that's out of the way .... So this isn't good for the American market. Surprising considering I thought Kent is a Walmart centric brand ... Their target consumer would be like 500lbs 🤷

I never recommended the JackRabbit, not one single time, I used it as a reference to debunk the poster that said a 350W motor requires pedal assistance. Nothing more, feel free to read back to confirm, sweetie.

In regards to CrossCore, that was definitely a recommendation where I also stated it costs "multiples more" because this Kent isn't worth even the $300. I'm no bike snob, I'm a SlickDealer, and that's the better deal, despite the price difference.

This seems like a great entry level e-bike.

Though returns would be a pain and warranty likely too costly beyond the first few days. The return policy specifies these as "finale sale" because it's more than 40% off but doesn't specify what that means. Otherwise you have 10 days to return it unused and in mint condition, you pay shipping + 15% restocking fee, unless it's defective. Warranty seems very vague as well and only talks about the frame having a "limited lifetime" warranty, nothing about the motor, battery or other mechanical parts - any warranty work doesn't cover labor or shipping.

With a rating of up to 1000 charge cycle on the battery, I imagine this bike won't last more than a few years before it becomes junk. I didn't see a replacement battery offered on their site, hopefully there's a compatible aftermarket version available.

I grabbed one anyways, been wanting to try an ebike for a few years and would rather pay $270 to try a bad one then $2k on one I might not ride. They also didn't collect state sales tax.

Edit: the 26" step through version is also available in blue (red is $510) for the same price $299.99 https://kent.bike/products/26-ken...6387751069 [kent.bike]
If an eBike owner rides their bike 50 times/year, and goes through a full charge cycle after each ride, wouldn't that be 20 years of use to get to 1000 charge cycles? I probably ride my eBike 10-20 times/year and do not need to charge after each ride. I get 2-3 rides per charge.

I was replying in regards to the claim that a 350w motor requires pedaling — it doesn't.

All you need do is look at something like the JackRabbit XG to see your preconceived notions are fallacious.
you edited it heavily, sweating profusely trying to get your grammar down..
but I meant it's required to be pedaled, no throttle. No one cares about your jackrabbit idk why you keep bringing it up

Lol, even if it was edited for grammar (it was never edited) that wouldn't change at thing about what I said.

What you *meant* and what you said were two totally different things — sorry you're unable to string a coherent sentence together. The JackRabbit was brought up purely to refute your lack of knowledge on this subject and for no other reason, especially not to recommend to anyone reading this thread.

you didn't "refute" anything since you just assumed and started rambling nonsense.

Mine comes tomorrow, I'll see how good it is. Ive paid more for dinner with my wife, so I'm not really too about it being an unbelievable bike, just something for her to ride on the rail trail with me and the kids

With low expectations, it's hard to disappoint. It's an ebike for couch change. I'm gonna throw a fork and brakes on it and send it.

I have a bike addiction. And cheap bikes are a cheap way to satisfy it.

Agreed, they're such elitist weirdos. I'm sure the $3k ebikes are great and all, but someone would likely want to go cheap to see if ebikes are good for them or not.

That being said, don't know if 350W will be enough for me; 500W would be good due to my weight but it probably wouldn't be as cheap as this bike that's on sale (coupon made it a bit bearable but now expired it seems).

it depends what the motor peaks at. Sometimes they just throw labels of 500w but it peaks well over 1000.
jackrabbit is a junk bike for little kids idk why that keeps being mentioned
