Great deal. These are super nice guitars and a good value even full price IMHO. My approach is get a decent cheap guitar like this and then spend all the money you didn't spend on an American Strat on a great tube amp. Also, HSS is 100% the way to go on S-style guitars.

Seems like a good deal. I have ordered already from ProAudioStar two previous 'open box' deals: Squier Strat and Tonex Pedal. Both are great and appeared to be brand new (not open box).
For those of you who know, is this Sterling by Music Man better than my 'Squier Classic Vibe '60s Stratocaster - Lake Placid Blue w/ Laurel FB'?

This is a slick deal!

The Cutlass CT20 HSS is also available as B-stock for $169.99. It's supposedly a model below, but the specs appear exactly the same, and I can't find any differences other than the paint color.

I agree with overlandsea...HSS on a Strat gives you the bridge humbucker you use 85% of the time on a Gibson-style guitar, plus all the Stratocaster sounds.

I would take any of these over almost any Squier. G&L was Leo Fender's company, and this is his own update of the Stratocaster design. They're a bit less neck-heavy because of the 4+2 headstock, and the 2-point trem is smoother than a vintage 5-screw trem.

It's probably a better deal at under $200, but it's probably not a quality upgrade from what you already have. (The CV is a higher end Squier.) The only reason to switch is that you want the humbucker pickup on the Cutlass, or you like one of the Cutlass colors a lot better than what you have.

Is CT30HSS better than Squier Sonic Stratocaster Electric Guitar for a beginner? Thank you!

Yes I'd get this one over the Squier.

Blue, Black, and Pink still available for $199, I think I'm going to have to pull the trigger on a blue one. Thanks OP!

Do you have any recommendations for tube amp to pair with this guitar? Thanks

Just depends on budget, power needs, and style. Fender Blues Jr is well loved and relatively affordable...definitely not high gain though. Mesa Mark 5:25 is super versatile, but a lot more expensive. There's so many other good options though, Supro, PRS, Marshall, and so many more are making good tube amps these days.
